Daily Sports: The All-Star Game On Tuesday
The stars come out in New York tonight, as baseball’s All-Star Game takes center stage in the world of daily sports. You can start the festivities at 7:30 PM ET with a half-hour “Red Carpet Show” on MLB Network and then game coverage itself begins at 8 PM ET on Fox, with the Joe Buck-Tim McCarver broadcast team handling duties.
If you’re not interested in baseball—or even if you are, but don’t feel like watching an exhibition game—then the NFL Network will be showing some classic games this week. Tonight’s feature is the 1992 NFC Championship Game, where the Dallas Cowboys went on the road and upset the San Francisco 49ers.
The showing of the game is at 8 PM ET and lasts for ninety minutes, and then there’s a half-hour feature on the 1992 Dallas Cowboys season-long quest. You may recall this was the first of the three Cowboy championship teams from 1992-95.
Here at TheSportsNotebook, the focus is baseball. Today we’re keeping it light, and revisiting my preseason predictions. It’s a moment that always provides for some laughs, and always provides opportunities to take a mulligan—or two, or three, or four. Yesterday’s MLB coverage looked at the rosters for tonight’s All-Star game, picked a few nits and told the media to shut up about Yasiel Puig.
And if you’re ready to gear up for the second half of the season that starts on Friday, then check out last week’s articles, which did a statistical snapshot of all six divisions to get a handle on where we’re at, and where we’re going.
